Healing for the Heart Behind the Art
Hi, I’m Amber — a Licensed Psychotherapist and former creative professional who helps creatives, artists, and entrepreneurs in Sherman Oaks (and beyond) find balance, clarity, and confidence while building the life they dream of.
I know what it’s like to pour your heart into your work and still feel like it’s never enough — the burnout, the imposter syndrome, the pressure to “make it.” Therapy with me is where you can take off the mask, breathe, and get real about what’s going on behind the success.
In addition to weekly talk therapy sessions, I also specialize in EMDR & Brainspotting Intensives in Sherman Oaks. In intensive therapy, we process months to years worth of therapy in a single weekend.
-
I specialize in supporting CREATIVES, ARTISTS and ENTREPRENEURS in Los Angeles who are navigating the unique challenges of turning passion into profession while trying to stay mentally and emotionally grounded. In addition to talk therapy, I also specialize in EMDR, Brainspotting and Intensive Therapy for an accelerated approach to trauma healing.
My Areas of Expertise:
Burnout and creative fatigue recovery
Imposter syndrome for artists and entrepreneurs
Trauma therapyand complex family dynamics
Career counseling and work-life balance
Therapy for business owners and freelancers
These specialties aren't just areas of study—they're lived experiences. I've felt the overwhelm, the pressure to succeed, the moments of self-doubt. I’ve experienced past traumas still living in my body and sabotaging the present moment. But I've also experienced healing, and I'm here to help you do the same.
-
Therapy with me feels more like a deep conversation with someone who truly gets it. I show up as a human first, therapist second. Expect warmth, humor, honesty, and a safe space to explore what’s holding you back — and what’s waiting to emerge.
My trauma-informed, person-centered approach combines:
Relational, collaborative care tailored to creative minds
EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for trauma, anxiety, and creative blocks
Gentle but honest goal-setting and accountability
Attachment Based Therapy and mindfulness techniques
Parts Workto help uncover all the parts that make you you
A mix of soul-searching and laughter (because healing doesn't always have to be heavy)
We’ll start by easing what’s painful now, then work through the deeper patterns and past experiences that may be influencing your confidence, relationships, and creative flow today.

Before becoming a therapist in Sherman Oaks, I worked as a Special FX makeup artist and clothing designer. Raised by artists, creativity has always been in my blood—literally. Creativity was my first language and my way of making sense of the world. Through creating, I learned how powerful it can be to tell stories, evoke emotion, and create connection through artistic expression.
When I returned to school to pursue a degree in mental health, my creative life took a backseat. For a while, I believed I had to choose between creativity and clinical work. Eventually, I realized I didn’t. Today, both inform the way I show up as a therapist—attuned, intuitive, and deeply curious about the human experience.
What shaped me just as deeply as my creativity was my own healing journey. I too struggled with childhood trauma, complex parental relationships, and attachment wounds that followed me well into adulthood. For much of my life, I lived with debilitating anxiety, intense depression, and severe insomnia. On the outside, I functioned. On the inside, my nervous system was constantly on high alert. Like many of my clients, I spent years trying to think my way out of pain, believing that understanding it intellectually would finally make it go away.
I participated in years of talk therapy, which was meaningful and supportive, but there were parts of my experience that words alone just could not reach. Trauma lived in my body, not just in my thoughts.
Through brain-based therapies like EMDR and Brainspotting, I came to understand the importance of working with the nervous system—not just the story. During my own Brainspotting Intensive everything truly shifted. That experience was profoundly transformative. It opened a level of regulation, connection, and integration that I had not previously accessed—one that bypassed over-analysis and met my nervous system where it actually lived. It reshaped my understanding of what is possible in trauma therapy and solidified my commitment to incorporating Intensive brain-based therapies into my practice.
Through my own healing, I was able to move out of survival mode, change my internal landscape, and truly begin to thrive. In that process, I unlocked a deeper understanding of my greatest passion: helping others experience relief, clarity, and freedom.
As a fellow creative and business owner, I understand:
The highs and lows of turning a vision into something real
The grind of working in industries that often undervalue your labor
The emotional weight of building a brand or business while trying to maintain a balance
What it feels like to be responsible for a team
The pressure to be “successful” in a world that measures worth by fame and fortune
I understand the beauty of creativity—and the discouragement that can come when your work feels unseen or unvalidated. And as an entrepreneur, I understand the mental and emotional toll of building something from the ground up: the long hours, the self-doubt, the responsibility, and the constant push to do more.
That’s why I specialize in working with creatives and entrepreneurs—high-achieving, deeply feeling individuals who are often praised for their resilience while quietly carrying so much beneath the surface. My work is rooted in the belief that your nervous system matters, your history matters, and healing does not require you to push harder—it requires you to feel safer.
Your well-being is not separate from your success. It is the foundation of it.
