From Boundaries to Balance: Thriving as a Female Entrepreneur

Female entrepreneurship is on the rise, and it’s shaking up industries around the world. It’s not just about starting businesses - it’s about empowering women to lead and thrive!

The Rise of Women in Business

Did you know that women now own 42% of businesses in the US? This is a testament to women breaking barriers and driving change. Let’s not forget that women in the US were only granted the right to open a bank account on their own in 1974. 50 years later and we are changing the workforce. Talk about girl power!

Beyond the Boardroom

But behind every girl boss are some real-life challenges. Running businesses, managing responsibilities and trying to show up for yourself is no easy task. Add societal pressures and expectations and it becomes a never-ending balancing act.

So what do we do? Start by setting boundaries. Know when to say “no” and when to delegate. Remember that we don’t set boundaries to push people away or to be some rigid Cruella Deville stereotype. We set them to show up for ourselves and for others. Self care is not selfish. It is essential for sustainable success and wellness.

Thriving Together

Maintaining relationships while being career focused takes work. Communicate openly with your loved ones about your goals and challenges. This builds strong support systems, but also weeds out any bad eggs who don’t really want to see you win. Because let’s face it, some times the hate comes from your own inner circle. In order to maintain relationships while thriving in your career, you need a supportive squad.

Sometimes, talking to a therapist can make all the difference. Therapy offers a safe space free of judgement to navigate the unique pressures women in business face. At A Road Through, our dedicated therapists understand the struggles women in business face because we are women in business too. We face the same challenges and triumphs, and we’re committed to providing a supportive space where you can thrive both personally and professionally.

Beyond therapy, embracing a healthy lifestyle fuels success. Daily movement, eating right and getting enough sleep all help to keep your mind sharp and your body strong. Mindfulness practices like meditation and yoga are also helpful tools in finding calm amongst the chaos. One of my favorite wellness hacks is to do some of my work outside when I can. In fact, this very blog is  being written from my patio!

What’s Next?

As more women redefine success is in the workplace, our journey is about much more than business - it’s about growth, development and doing all the things that they said we couldn’t. By setting boundaries, nurturing our relationships and prioritizing self-care, female entrepreneurs can thrive personally and professionally.
